Forge Photonics, a Canberra-based deep-tech start-up, partnered with us to establish a bold, intelligent brand identity and digital presence that reflects their mission to bring safe, affordable autonomous mobility to scale. Commercialising breakthrough fibre optic sensing technology developed by physicists at the Australian National University, Forge needed a brand that would match the precision of their work and the scale of their ambition.
The Challenge
While Forge already had an existing icon, they lacked a cohesive brand identity, logo system, and digital presence. Their breakthrough navigation sensors — offering FOG-level performance at automotive cost — needed to be communicated with clarity, restraint, and credibility. The challenge was to develop a refined, science-forward brand that appealed to both Tier 1 automotive suppliers and innovation-focused investors, without over-disclosing technical IP or overcomplicating the message.
The Solution
We built on the existing icon to create a complete brand identity system including a re-worked logo suite, refined colour palette and full typographic system, drawing inspiration from photonic structures and precision engineering. The visual language was anchored by a bold, electric blue–based palette, paired with a confident monotone base and layered fractal glass effects to reflect the intersection of science and scale. We designed and developed a fully responsive website complete with custom animated elements that delivered a focused brand narrative, with clean UI and clarity to serve technical, commercial, and investor audiences.
